– Barlovento stool –

American Red Oak

Barlovento

The idea for Barlovento stool comes from traditional craft techniques in boat building, a trade in which wood was bent to achieve aerodynamic and efficient shapes, making better use of the grain of the trees.

They created strong but light shapes that unite beauty and function, in constant conversation with the sea and wind, forced to the efficiency of resources.

Awards

Barlovento is one of 3 finalists of the Toca Madera competition by the American hardwood export council AHEC, for young designers in Spain, in collaboration with AIDI, where participants were challenged to create an “infinite object” – an object to stand the test of time, in response to today’s throw-away culture. Exhibited at the Fernán Gomez exhibition center during Feb 2020.⠀
